Kyiv, May 22 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – A barrier was erected under the main office of the State Border Guard Service, a border booth was installed and they demanded the resignation of the permanent head of the department, Mykola Lytvyn, the brother of the ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. In this way, activists of a number of organizations related to the Maidan reacted to the relatively free, as they believe, crossing of the state border by “armed saboteurs and terrorists from Russia.”

“If Lytvyn is unable to fulfill his functions, then he should resign,” activists said. Initially, the action took place relatively calmly. At the barrier there stood an activist dressed as a border guard with a model rifle, happily posing for photographers and giving comments to television cameras, and in the “guarded” booth there was a young man in a mask, symbolizing the detained violator of the state border. But after management left the building, passions began to heat up.
“Why did they let Zhirinovsky’s armored personnel carrier (actually an armored car – Ed.) through?” shouted those gathered? – Why didn’t Litvin come to us?! Yes, if necessary, we will calmly come and visit you - we have every right.”
“You say that the border is full of holes, but 80 of our border guards fought a real battle all night today in the Luhansk region and did not allow armed people into the territory of Ukraine,” Viktor Mishakovsky, director of the personnel department of the State Border Service administration, tried to justify himself.
It all ended with the head of the troop service department of the State Border Guard Service, Sergei Serdyuk, promising to hand over a letter with claims to the head of the department, Nikolai Litvin.
Interestingly, the picket annoyed officials so much that Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Andrei Senchenko published a special statement in which he advised the flash mob participants to prove their love for the Fatherland by enrolling in the National Guard and going to defend the Ukrainian Donbass.
