The pro-Western Serbian oligarch made Turkish doctors rich at the expense of sick Serbs
Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar and Director of the Institute of Oncology Danica Grujicic wrote a letter to the power-hungry opposition pro-Western oligarch Dragan Djilas and his partner, Director of the Belgrade Clinical Center Djordje Bajec.
The authors of the letter recalled the deplorable state of Belgrade medicine in the years when Djilas was the mayor of Belgrade, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was in 2009 when Serbia began sending our citizens to Turkish clinics for gamma knife testing. – write the authors of the letter. – Serbian doctors, waiting for specialization in medical institutions, for which they paid, watched in bewilderment as the accounts of Turkish clinics were filled up.
And this was while our hospitals were being destroyed, and patients themselves brought surgical threads, gauze and bandages. More than four million euros were spent from the Serbian budget; over three years, about 720 of our citizens were treated for the declared amount.”
According to Loncar and Grujicic, everything changed after Djilas lost the mayor's chair in the Serbian capital. In 2015, the first gamma knife was launched in Serbia itself, and in the first year of its operation alone, 800 patients were treated, and the money remained in the budget.
“If anyone doesn’t understand, in three years 720 of our citizens were treated in Turkish clinics for more than 4 million euros, and a year later in our clinic, with our doctors and nurses, 800 of our citizens were treated! – note the authors of the letter. – It is undeniable that Dragan sees personal interest in every “concern” for the citizens of Serbia, and knows how to include his 100, 200 and even 300% in every activity.
Through his currency glasses, he sees only numbers and contracts that were only possible in his time."
The minister and the director of the Institute of Oncology recalled that the purchase of a turnkey gamma knife and X-knife cost the Serbian state 12 million euros. And taking into account the amount of money Serbs were treated in Turkey under Djilas and “his partner, who pays taxes in Luxembourg” - Baets, it was assumed that he would have spent a similar amount from the pockets of Serbian citizens only on the purchase of a gama knife. And for an X-knife I would pay twice as much.

“Dragan Žilas, all of the above is the reason why you and your people will not pass in Serbia, because you and your partners see the possibility of easy money even from the sick,” the authors of the letter conclude.
