The pseudo-state of Kosovo was never able to form a government
The “parties” that won the October elections to the “parliament” of Kosovo have still not been able to form a coalition and government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The leader of the self-determination movement, which received the most votes, Albin Kurti, officially rejected the latest proposal from the leader of the Democratic Union of Kosovo (UDK), Isa Mustafa, to create a joint government.
Mustafa demanded the post of speaker for his party, and also that the DSK have the right to nominate its candidate for the presidency when the term of current “president” Hashim Thaçi expires in 2021.
This practically means that the already elected speaker of parliament, Glauk Konjufatz, a representative of Self-Determination, must resign to make room.
The Express newspaper writes that the latest developments have further aggravated the situation between the two Albanian parties, which were unable to reach an agreement more than three months after early parliamentary elections held on October 6 last year.
Thus, the crisis of power in the unrecognized region is only gaining momentum, and the way out of it will be repeat elections. None of Kosovo's last four "parliaments" were able to complete a full term.
