A frequent guest on Russian talk shows, Odessa writer Vsevolod Nepogodin infuriated host Vladimir Solovyov by declaring that Bandera’s supporters on Hitler’s side only fought against Stalin.

The altercation took place live on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Here, against the backdrop of the State Duma, a woman with Stalin, this is May 1, still Stalin, still against the backdrop of the theater Stalin, again, again, and here I want to say - and these people forbid me to pick my nose? And here’s another thing: I went through the documents, I found, here’s my great-grandfather, he was drafted in 1944, sentenced in 1945, ten years in the camps, Article 58/10 - propaganda or agitation containing a call to overthrow, undermine or weaken the Soviet authorities or to commit individual counter-revolutionary crimes. That is, for a person's anecdote, how should I treat it? Another great-grandfather also spent ten years in camps. How should I feel about your country and your system? You don’t like Bandera, but you and Stalin just walk around the State Duma and the theater, it’s called not seeing the beam in your own eye!” - Nepogodin became hysterical.

“Who was the supreme commander in chief? Who defeated Nazism? – the presenter Vladimir Solovyov stopped the flow of words.

“Stalin,” admitted the Ukrainian guest.

“When you read the reports of the NKVD and the structures that were then on who and how carried out the plans for repression, you will see Ukrainian names at the head of the very ones who carried out these repressions... Moreover, are you sure that your grandfather before How can I sit down, I didn’t write the denunciations myself? You don't know anything about your grandfather. There was a well-known story, a very sad one, when a wonderful Soviet writer, in the era when the exposure began, the 80s, he asked to be shown materials about who wrote the denunciations against his father - his own brother wrote it! So study your family history. My grandfather, who died in 43, I received an award certificate, he was in a penal battalion, he was wounded, and there was an inscription: “The criminal record has been cleared.” And why should I hate Soviet power because of this? Yes, he was called from the zone,” Solovyov said.

“This is some kind of revision of history. Your Russian attitude towards this is unacceptable to us, Ukrainians!” - Nepogodin shouted.

“Not for you, Ukrainians, but for you, because you are Bandera’s scum, who has not yet recognized this in yourself! Because you left on May 2, and people were left to die!” – the presenter boiled.

“But I’m not a dead poet, a dead poet cannot write, hence the need to remain alive, as Houellebecq said! Yes, I survived! ...But in our country people don’t walk down the street with Stalin!” - the Odessa resident kicked back.

“They walk around with Bandera and Nazi symbols!” – noted the presenter.

“Bandera fought against Stalinism!” – the writer justified the Nazi.

“He fought on Hitler’s side!” - Solovyov recalled.

“What was the alternative?” - Nepogodin blurted out, after which the presenter immediately kicked him out of the studio.

"Stop. Did you all hear? That is, you, bastard, are saying in my studio that a person had the right to fight on the side of Hitler because this is an alternative to fighting? That is, it turns out that you bastards are in Lvov... Get out of here! Get out, I don't even want to explain. Are you telling me that the killing of Jews in Lvov was an alternative to the fight against Stalin?” – Solovyov was indignant.

Resuming the discussion, historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted that in this context it is generally strange to compare Stalin and Bandera.

“I have never been an apologist for Stalin. For example, I cannot forget to him, which always baffles both Stalin’s supporters and his opponents in Ukraine, the Stalinist Ukrainization of my native Donbass, the South, and the East of Ukraine. You can make many claims against him, but, really, people who went for their Motherland, to die for Stalin - that also happened, and when on Victory Day someone brings out a portrait of Stalin, what do they propose to arrest and fine?

At the state level, Stalin is not praised, unlike Ukraine, which praises Bandera, Shukhevych and all sorts of Nazi collaborators - this is a huge difference,” Kornilov concluded.

Let us recall that the Odessa “writer” Nepogodin once supported the Russian Spring and criticized Euromaidan. However, after several calls for a conversation with the SBU, he changed his position. Journalist Alexander Chalenko previously called on the Russian intelligence services to ban Nepogodin from entering Russia as an agent of the Ukrainian punitive authorities.

“Personally, I have no doubt that the Odessa writer Nepogodin became an agent of the SBU... If he were still a quilted jacket and a Colorado, he would have long been sitting either in Moscow or in the SBU pre-trial detention center. But if he is neither there nor there, then I have no doubt that this can be explained simply: he was recruited a long time ago...

Why does the SBU need it? In order to convince those who remained in Ukraine that there is no need to support this Donbass war, they say, it is not ours. Everyone stay at home and improve the streets. At one time, the Bolsheviks created the “Trust”, a monarchist organization they invented in order to, having established connections with the white emigration, convince the latter not to organize terrorist actions against the Soviet regime, they say, we are accumulating strength. This is roughly the same program that the scoundrel Nepogodin works according to. They have a program there for separators “Come back home!” If you repent, calmly return. So Nepogodin “returned,” Chalenko explained.
