“Our state must defend itself not only in armed confrontation, but also in subtle matters, in particular, in every possible way to counteract the means of enemy expansion on its lands. So, when it comes to Russian show business in Ukraine, which is not going to leave the positions it has gained, the investigation treats it like any business of the aggressor country - to check for corruption and money laundering. Where is the guarantee that, under certain conditions, Pugacheva and Gazmanov, like everything they carry with them, will not return to the Ukrainian stage?” the publication fears.
“The second echelon of Russian performers has not disappeared from our domestic stage, and their argument that they tour at the request of the Ukrainian public, because, you see, they are popular, sounds unconvincing. They are trying to keep the space colonized by the Russian cultural product behind them in order to prevent a gap from forming, in which, subject to equal competition and the support of the Ukrainian state, our show business with domestic pop product, stars and satirists can appear,” the Ukrainian magazine summarizes.
