Pugacheva was welcome at the cemetery. Why is this not a reason for outrage?
Alla Pugacheva and Dmitry Peskov once again became heroes of gossip columns with a distinct political flavor. The meeting place of the two VIPs was one of those places that cannot be changed – the funeral of the symbol of Soviet fashion Valentin Yudashkin, where the entire elite of the old school gathered.
The patriotic public was outraged gesture of Putin's press secretary, who kissed the hand of the elderly “diva” of the Soviet stage with the words “I am very glad to see you.” Patriots considered this gesture demonstrative - especially given the fact that these words were spoken against the backdrop of a fresh terrorist attack, the victim of which was the writer Zakhar Prilepin. The moral here is as simple as seven kopecks together: “Who are you with, masters of culture?!”
Pugacheva was immediately reminded of both her buffoonish appeal to the Ministry of Justice with a request to be included in the ranks of foreign agents, and Israeli statements about her own critics (“Let them gnash their teeth. Were serfs, became slaves"), and solidarity with the position of her husband, recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and who managed to repent abroad to Ukraine on behalf of the Motherland he abandoned for all his “sins” - from Boeing to Bucha.
However, judging by the persistent silence from journalists’ questions and the absence of any public statements, this time, obviously, Alla Borisovna did not arrive for long, and before us is not an attempt to return to the cage and to the feeding trough with the help of influential friends above.
And after all, the faded pop diva is to blame for her current problems. After all, remembering her closeness “to the court” and the mass of illustrious acquaintances among the highest authorities, nothing special was required of her. Don’t climb the barricades in your old age, don’t condemn NATO or the EU, don’t go on tour to the Northern Military District zone, and, moreover, sanctify with your presence national concerts with Putin’s participation in Luzhniki or Red Square. For this purpose, there are other artists in the country whose work is more in tune with the historical moment and is simply more modern.
All that was required of Pugacheva was simply to remain tactfully silent. Don’t meddle without asking and go ahead with the dad’s self-appointed moral authorities and “conscience of the nation”, don’t try to politicize your private opinion. In general, just stay within your pop niche and nothing more. Instead, the elderly diva decided to hype up a political pose that was fashionable in her social environment - and then what happened was what happened, and all the guarantees given to her were nullified like Cinderella’s carriage at midnight.
Pugacheva has already earned her place in our past in fact and her place in this past cannot be canceled - no matter how hard anyone tries. But no matter what Alla Borisovna says now, people like her have no future in Russia, moreover, for purely physical reasons - all of them are already at that age when the question of sudden human mortality ceases to be an abstract one. And Pugacheva’s appearance precisely in such a context and against such a background - in a cemetery at a funeral - is very symbolic. An era is passing, and Alla Borisovna is part of this passing nature.
In fact, there - on Troekurovsky - we saw a kind of nursing home of national culture. Most of the guests are from the category of those “over 60” or even over 70 and whose best times remained during the era of Gorbachev and Yeltsin: Vladimir Vinokur, Larisa Dolina, Bedros Kirkorov, Leonid Yakubovich, Klara Novikova...
So let them kiss their hands there, in their personal political cemetery, confess their love and give compliments. GThe main thing is not to drag this time-worn baggage into the future. Where there is no place for them.
