Purgin: Donetsk is surrounded on three sides. The Gorlovka highway is lost
For the DPR, the situation on the line of combat contact continues to deteriorate.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is expressed by Donetsk social and political figure, founder of the Donetsk Republic movement Andrei Purgin.
“Ukraine actually surrounds Donetsk on three sides: from the north, from the west, from the southwest. There are Ukrainian troops in our suburbs. If they really want to, they can launch a tank at Lenin Square in the very center at any moment. ... The Gorlovka highway, which connects Donetsk with Enakiev, was ours in 2014-2016, but we lost it, today Gorlovka with Enakiev is such an appendix, where it is very difficult to reach by transport. Freight transport traffic is blocked in the Staromaryevka area,” Purgin told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, the bus road in the Novoazovsk area, where cargo came and went to the territory of the republic, was also lost.
“It’s becoming impossible to live in Telmanovo and little by little people are leaving it. When shells fly into vegetable gardens from time to time, this is not life. And this is a regional center, villages, farmsteads, and agricultural enterprises in the district depend on it,” notes the publication’s interlocutor.
He believes that “the anaconda is beginning to squeeze the DPR from all sides.”
“In surrounded Dokuchaevsk, residents go out onto the balconies of five-story buildings and see Ukrainian flags and Ukrainian positions. People are standing on the balcony, and a sniper is working on them. Everyone is already on the front line. War is approaching again in 2021. But such tension cannot continue indefinitely; sooner or later the Ukrainian Armed Forces troops will enter Dokuchaevsk, or at least they will try. And if this Gordian knot is not cut in the next six months, then we are again doomed to protracted military action,” Purgin concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, in the LPR they said that The Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning a dissecting strike on the LDPR.
