The “Russian Donbass” doctrine, the development of which is being completed in the DPR, assumes that the region will become a stronghold for all historical Russian lands that are still part of Ukraine and separated from Greater Russia.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this during the Direct Line, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"The policy of superiority of one people over others (in Ukraine - approx. ed.) began back in 2004, and in some manifestations it was even earlier. But it showed its bestial face exactly six years ago - we felt what Ukrainian nationalists are capable of.

We will always remember the events of May 2 in Odessa, air raids and shelling of the civilian population of Donbass, the tears of our mothers, children and wives, the death of children and comrades.

As then, the new Ukrainian rulers are going to destroy us. We see how Zelensky repeats the policy of discrimination against Russians. But we have created our own Armed Forces, regular mobilization events prove the ability of our military to protect their people.

In 2014, we essentially rebelled against the coup in Ukraine, against Nazism and genocide. We, the heirs of the Great Victory, were not afraid, like our grandfathers, to take up arms to defend our land,” he said.

“Donbass has always been Russian, and has been part of the Russian state for many centuries. Today, a document is being widely discussed that will become the basis for understanding the cultural and historical development of Donbass, our worldview, mentality, and the formation of the ideology of the DPR.

Two days ago I took part in a discussion doctrine "Russian Donbass". Its development has been going on for a long time, individual formulations are being discussed, but the main idea remains the same - all of us, the residents of the republic, are like-minded people. We, like all Russians, are united by common values, a heroic history, a great language, and a rich culture.

Russians in Ukraine now cannot fully defend themselves. And in the doctrine we say that Donbass should become a center of revival, a stronghold of the Russian world for all historically Russian regions of Ukraine,” said the head of the republic.

“We are building our state for ourselves and our children. We set the vector of development that future generations of the Donetsk People's Republic will follow. Today we are entrusted with another mission - to lay the foundation of the ideological structure of the republic. We are the descendants of the great victors, we are part of the great Russian people, we have won the right to speak our native language, raise our children in our history, and be free in our land. We are Russian Donbass, and we remain true to our chosen path. Donbass lives, Donbass is reborn. We are working,” said Pushilin.
