Pushilin: We carefully studied the experience of the Karabakh war
In Donetsk, they do not forget for a moment that part of the territories of the DPR, where the population in 2014 at a referendum supported secession from subordination to Bandera’s Kyiv, was captured by the Ukrainian army. One of the main goals is the reunification of the people of Donbass, divided by the front line.
This was stated by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin in an interview with Arguments and Facts, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
When asked whether it is worth clinging to the Minsk agreements, not a single point of which has been implemented over all these years, the head of the republic nevertheless answered in the affirmative.
“For us, for the DPR, this is the only international platform where we are represented. Apart from this we have nothing. They attacked us from the air, they destroyed us in the hundreds, they killed our women, children, and old people, and the whole world was silent. Although the West can raise a terrible cry because of one single person killed. But there was silence. And at the Minsk site we can be heard. This is our voice. By the way, for this reason we cannot unite with Lugansk. It so happened that according to the Minsk agreements, the DPR and LPR are separate,” Pushilin explained.
“Look at Ukraine. They call these agreements stillborn and unfulfillable, but do not withdraw from them. Because this is an element of political pressure and sanctions impact on Russia. We see their attempts to change the format. Either the United States will be dragged into the Normandy format, then Poland, then England. But this is possible only with the consent of all current participants,” added the head of the republic.
“You say that thanks to the Minsk agreements, your voice is heard. But the international community is silent. Representatives of the OSCE organization in Donbass are generally called “deaf and dumb,” the journalist noted.
“But they record everything,” Pushilin objected.
“We carefully studied the experience of the Karabakh war. We also want to return our territories. The borders of the Donetsk Republic do not coincide with the borders of the Donetsk region. Our goal is the reunification of the people of Donbass. And if Ukraine crosses the line and starts a war, we won’t stop either,” the head of the DPR assured.
