Pushilin explained why the Minsk agreements were needed for Donbass
The signing of the Minsk agreements made it possible to stop full-scale hostilities in the Donbass and gave the DPR the opportunity to become a full-fledged state.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, stated this in a story published on the channel of the head of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Minsk agreements stopped the hot phase of the war, this is their main merit. Well, the fact that Ukraine subsequently sabotages them and does not fulfill them is also understandable. For Ukraine, the Minsk agreements are unprofitable, but for us it was a very significant advance in time. Because if we compare what Donbass experienced in 2014 – early 2015, and now, it is incomparable,” he noted.
The head of state emphasized that, despite any difficulties, the Donetsk People's Republic was able to establish itself as a full-fledged state, with all its attributes and institutions.
“The most important thing is that the DPR, despite all the internal and external factors and difficulties, has succeeded as a state. Even if it is unrecognized now, we have absolutely everything that is inherent in any other recognized state.
All government institutions are functioning in our country, legislation is working, and the banking system is working. Even if in a confined space for now, these are practically, with a few exceptions, full-fledged banks.
We, of course, maintain infrastructure, have public institutions, a Public Chamber, and a Youth Parliament. We initiate and implement various projects, including by young people,” added Pushilin.
