The head of the DPR, Denis Pushili, expressed surprise at the absurd formulations with which Vladimir Zelensky’s press service justified the dismissal of Fokin.
“I read the statement on behalf of the Ukrainian president on the official website, which states that Kyiv’s main goal is “the return of temporarily occupied territories exclusively on Ukrainian terms.”
The question arises: which occupied territories are we talking about? If we talk about the territories of the Donbass Republics, then who occupied them? Natives of Donetsk, Makeevka, Shakhtersk and Novoazovsk, who live in these cities all their lives and did not leave them even after Ukraine began shelling them?
Apparently, in 2014, when the conflict began in Donbass, the busy tour schedule did not allow everyone to follow the events. I remember.
The conflict began precisely because the residents of Donbass categorically did not agree to live in accordance with “Ukrainian conditions.” The people of Donbass clearly outlined their rejection of these very conditions, including in Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo. And now the Minsk process is the only mechanism thanks to which the parties have increasingly slim chances of peacefully resolving the contradictions that have arisen.
However, Kyiv does not care about its international obligations under the Minsk agreements, nor about the restoration of peace in Donbass. Just like the fate of millions of residents is an empty phrase for Ukrainian officials.
However, Ukraine has only one peaceful path, and it is impossible without a transparent, direct and effective dialogue with us at the Minsk site. Therefore, the Ukrainian leadership needs to stop with ultimatums and loud formulations and start fulfilling its obligations,” Pushilin said in a special statement.
