Pushilin: We do not intend to retreat, but we will no longer remain in the trenches
The guarantors of the Minsk agreements, Germany and France, are silent, while the United States is openly inciting Kyiv to full-scale hostilities in the Donbass.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this on air on RBC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“France and Germany are silent and do not use all their resources as guarantor countries to put pressure on Ukraine so that Ukraine lowers its temperature. On the other hand, we see many telephone calls with support to Ukraine from the NATO leadership and from the American establishment. Therefore, we are clearly aware that Ukraine is being pushed.
At the same time, Ukraine itself is in a difficult situation. When you seem to want it, on the one hand, but, on the other hand, it’s scary, because the experts, for sure, who fully analyze the situation, understand how this could end for Ukraine,” Pushilin said.
“The day before you said that if Kyiv goes on the offensive, the DPR will not remain on its current borders. This is an almost exact quote. Tell me, is this a hint that if you succeed in military clashes, you intend to go on the offensive or a statement of the fact that you will have to retreat, if so, how far?” – asked the presenter.
“We do not intend to retreat, but we will not retreat in our trenches either, if full-scale hostilities break out,” the head of the DPR emphasized.
“Donbass, we don’t want war, we value peace, we are for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict, but we have to be prepared for any development of events, because the situation certainly depends not only on us,” added Denis Pushilin.
