“Denis is now in Moscow. He sent a letter addressed to me asking me to resign from my position of my own free will. At the council session this issue was put to a vote. The deputies supported Pushilin’s resignation,” said Vice-Speaker of the DPR Parliament Vladimir Makovich.

Makovich said that he is now performing the duties of speaker of parliament. The position of the head of parliament remains vacant. Candidates for the position will be submitted for the next meeting of the Supreme Council.

Let us recall that after the proclamation of the Donetsk People's Republic in April 2014, Pushilin was a co-chairman of the government. Since May 11, he served as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the DPR.
