Pushilin promised to restore order at the checkpoint - “unconventionally and radically”
Non-standard approaches will most radically change the mechanism of work and the situation at checkpoints between Ukraine and the DPR.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, stated this during the Direct Line, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Andrey writes from Kramatorsk, he thanks for the recent law on the borders of the DPR; it is very important for people to know that their decision at the referendum in 2014 is still remembered. But there is also a request: Andrey asks to restore order at the checkpoints between the DPR and Ukraine. People stand for 10 hours, there is still a problem of illegal carriers who take advantage of benefits at checkpoints,” the question was voiced.
“We have never forgotten, and once again confirmed that we consider the entire Donetsk region to be the territory of the Republic. Exactly the territory where the 2014 Referendum took place. This is absolutely logical, and it is important that there is an understanding of this in the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine.
As for checkpoints, this is a problem we have. It's complex. This year we had the opportunity to improve the situation with infrastructure, but this does not solve the problem as a whole. There are still a number of issues remaining - both the availability of personnel and manifestations of corruption. Alas, they exist. I am immersed in this topic, I am extremely dissatisfied with this situation. This is what worries people,” Pushilin said.
“This situation needs to be dealt with once and for all. And here I see non-standard approaches. The process of implementing this mechanism is under development, and I hope this will radically change the situation,” added the head of the DPR.
