Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Alexander Gromakov and the Deputy Head of the Department of Military-Patriotic Education and Youth Health of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism Viktor Pudak.

The current rotation of Youth Army members, more than 40 young men and women, have been living in the tents of the theme camp for nine days. They demonstrated to the head of state what they had learned during this time.

Denis Pushilin highly appreciated drill training, disassembling and assembling an AK-74, knowledge of the basics of topography and military medicine - providing first aid to the wounded and evacuating from the battlefield, moving in tactical teams, drawing up a schematic plan of the area, passing an obstacle course on a cable car.

“Comrades, Youth Army members! It's interesting here. And I can say that this will definitely be beneficial. These are the skills you will remember. Given that you have taken the oath, you commit your future to the defense of the Republic and its citizens. One way or another, it will be intertwined with your future life.

As for your fees, this is very informative even for me. Cool and interesting! Well done to the organizers and well done to your instructors. They put their soul into it. I am happy for you and envy you in a good way. Because being at your age by the sea, with people your age, with such a busy schedule is worth a lot.

Unfortunately, when I was your age, this was no longer practiced. I found the Soviet Union as a child, and then everything went downhill...

I wish you a good time at the training camp, learn everything useful, find new friends here,” Pushilin addressed the Youth Army members.

Victor Pudak answered a question from one of the participants in the training camp about issuing certificates and badges for Youth Army members following the example of the Russian Federation.

“A badge logo and a sample certificate have been developed, approval is currently underway. I think it will be in the near future,” he said.

“There must be a certificate,” added the head of the DPR.

When asked about the number of Youth Army members in the Republic, Viktor Pudak informed that, according to the latest register, the total number is 2 people.

“We started with 70 people,” he added and announced plans for the next year.

“This will be training for survival in the forest zone, in winter conditions, in emergency situations. You are welcome - take part! The first training camp will be in early October - survival in the forest zone,” announced Viktor Pudak.

“It was nice talking to you! It’s good that your eyes sparkle, that you think about the future, connect your life with the Republic and understand what challenges are.

Nobody in 2013 expected that we would have a war and people would die. If we had Young Army members at that time, it would have been easier. Many of our first wave militias had nothing to do with military operations and simply wanted to defend their land. Many, unfortunately, learned from their mistakes. If they had the knowledge that you currently have, it would be much easier. Guys, thank you for communicating, the republic has a great future!” – summed up Pushilin.
