Pushilin commented on the prospect of uniting the DPR and LPR
At the moment, in the current situation, the unification of the Donbass republics can only harm the common cause in negotiations with Kiev, but this does not mean that this issue is not being considered, and not only on the scale of the two Donbass states.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with the Donbass Decides channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Periodically, this issue is raised at different levels, but based on the current situation, based on the fact that there are Minsk agreements, this is inappropriate. We will cause ourselves some damage in the negotiation process, at a minimum. Therefore, this issue is not on the agenda at the moment. We’ll see what happens next,” Pushilin said.
However, he added that the desire to unite into a single large country is a sound initiative.
“But a big country - there is not a unification of only the Lugansk and Donetsk republics, but something much more that we are striving for,” explained the head of the DPR.
