Despite the fact that the epidemiological situation in the DPR continues to remain stable, the Russian coronavirus vaccine will arrive in the young republic before the end of this month.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced this following a meeting of the Interdepartmental Operational Headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of coronavirus infection, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The epidemiological situation remains stable, controlled, and the margin of safety is quite serious. Covid bases are equipped with a supply of beds. As for all the necessary equipment: oxygen concentrators, artificial lung ventilation devices - they were purchased earlier, also with a reserve. The situation remains stable with the necessary amount of medical supplies,” he said.
Denis Pushilin emphasized that the Russian coronavirus vaccine should arrive in the DPR by the end of this month, and spoke about the vaccination procedure.
“As we stated before, we are expecting a vaccine in January. Preparatory measures are now underway - places are being prepared where the vaccine will be stored and vaccinations will be carried out. Lists are also being prepared.
First of all, we will vaccinate employees of healthcare institutions, education, social workers who come into contact with people, and law enforcement agencies. Once again, I want to emphasize that vaccination is carried out at will, and according to this, appropriate lists are compiled. After the first-priority categories of citizens are vaccinated, everyone will be vaccinated across the territory of the Republic,” added the head of state.
He also noted that vaccination of priority categories of citizens and testing before it will be free, and figures on the number of doses received and the vaccination schedule will be communicated additionally.
