Pushilin: Referendum on joining the Russian Federation - only after the liberation of the entire Donbass
By voting in a referendum for independence from Kyiv in 2014, residents of the LDPR meant the issue of maximum rapprochement with Russia, to which they would return after the liberation of the entire territory of the republics.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the moment, we are guided by the fact that the DPR is recognized as an independent sovereign state.
As for desires and aspirations, they became clear to us back in 2014. People came to the referendum and clearly stated their position.
At the referendum it sounded like “own independence”, but, nevertheless, everyone meant and continued to mean only one desire - to be as close to Russia as possible.
But everything has its time, and now the main task is, of course, reaching the constitutional borders of the DPR. We’ll see and decide further,” Pushilin said.
