Pushilin: Military conscription in the DPR will increase
Despite its insignificant scale at the moment, military conscription in the DPR will grow in the future.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview on the Union channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The first military conscription was only 200 people, now it is 300 people. It will grow because young guys who reach conscription age must serve in the army. We are striving for this,” he said.
Let us remind you that in April 2021 the Republic of Donbass synchronously announced the first conscription in seven years. The first wave of conscripts in each republic consisted of 200 people - for six months they served in military units of the LPR and DPR.
However, despite the voluntary nature of conscription, those wishing to undergo military service it turned out to be much morethan the planned 200 people.
Six months later Denis Pushilin held a meeting with the first demobilized military personnel of the republic in the DPR.
Let us note that earlier the official representative of the UNM DPR Eduard Basurin admitted that during all seven years of the war the Republic of Donbass were not faced with the need to declare mobilization, there are enough volunteers to defend against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And the announced conscription for military service is associated with the need to train the younger generation in military specialties.
