Pushilin to Zelensky: Don’t worry, it’s time to start direct negotiations!
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, welcomed the results of yesterday’s negotiations on the fate of Donbass in Minsk, which resulted in the announcement of the possible start of a direct dialogue between Kyiv and the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
This is stated in Pushilin’s statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that representatives of the current Ukrainian and Russian leadership took part in the meeting of the Contact Group, which took place the day before, cannot but inspire hope for a new productive round in the negotiation process. After all, it was thanks to the extended meeting that we were able for the first time to achieve protocol registration of decisions and instructions. And if Ukraine once again does not save in the face of far-fetched difficulties, then in the future we will be able to count on concrete actions on their part.
Regarding the announced possible emergence of a dialogue platform between Donbass and Kiev, I note that we have been talking about the need for such a solution for a long time. This is confirmed by our repeated statements about our readiness to conduct direct negotiations with Ukraine. Only this format can contribute to the most rapid, effective and coordinated resolution of the conflict,” notes the head of the DPR.
Previously telegram channel “Around the DPR authorities”, considered close to the leadership of the republic, published a forecast that Zelensky will “merge” all peaceful initiatives to please the nationalists.
“Our opinion is that this will end in another circus, and the republics will continue their rapprochement with Russia. As soon as the documents about the advisory council become public, the Nazis, with the support of all sorts of Poroshenkos, will begin their protests, and Zelensky will once again cave in and ruin everything. We are watching. March promises to be interesting,” the authors summarize.
