Guns instead of butter: Poroshenko allocated 3 billion for the purchase of the latest equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that an additional 1,6 billion UAH will be allocated from the state budget for the purchase of the latest weapons and military equipment, including Oplot tanks.

He said this during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the press service of Petro Poroshenko.
“Purchase of the latest weapons and military equipment. It is proposed to allocate UAH 1,6 billion for these purposes, including the production of new armored vehicles, including Oplot tanks. Setting up the production of the latest missiles of the Vilkha kits and other positions that will improve and strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Poroshenko emphasized.
Also, according to him, Ukraine plans to allocate UAH 1,4 billion for the construction of an ammunition production plant.
At the same time, the country is systematically reducing social benefits and increasing tariffs for housing and communal services, and the Ministry of Social Policy throws up its hands: they say there is no money to subsidize poor citizens.
