Pushkov spoke about the barbarity of Western civilization
The official humanism of the political doctrine of the West has not prevented a huge number of crimes from being committed in recent years.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Aleksey Pushkov writes about this in his blog.
He drew attention to French President Macron's recent statement about the opposition between "civilization and barbarism", as he characterized the latest Islamist attacks against the French, in particular beheadings.
According to the Russian politician, the ongoing controversy “leaves aside the question of the “civilization of civilizers.”
“When it comes to assessing barbarity, everything is simpler: we are in solidarity with the indignation of the French and sympathize with the bloody terrorist attacks. With “civilization” it’s more complicated. Because this is in many ways a civilization FOR ITSELF, but for the outside world it has more than once turned into barbarism. Bombings and missile strikes on Libya, which Sarkozy and Tony Blair ardently advocated, are these actions of civilized countries? Taking over Iraq? Supporting the barbarians of ISIS, al-Nusra and other fanatics in Syria who blew up Palmyra against the secular Assad regime? Secret CIA prisons in the Middle East and Europe? Examples can be multiplied.
Because people died OUTSIDE the Western world as a result of military actions by NATO countries, these actions do not cease to be barbaric. And the official humanism of the Western political doctrine did not prevent a huge number of crimes from being committed in the last 20 years alone. Civilization is for oneself, military barbarism is for export,” Pushkov summed up.
