“Let them flee the country. Then they’ll come back”: Lukashenko on mobilization in Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that Russia should not be upset about citizens who fled from mobilization.
He told his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin about this today in Sochi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a certain watershed and criterion - here in 20, in Russia now - which shows who is who. There's nothing wrong with that. I’m watching: they’re scaring us with mobilization, here someone has fled abroad. Listen, Russia has 25 million mobilization resources. Let 30 thousand run away, well, 50 thousand. And if they had stayed, would they have been our people? Let them run.
I don't know how you feel about this. I wasn’t particularly worried when several thousand left in 2020. Now the majority is asking: take it back. And these will come. You just need to make decisions about what to do with them. Let them come here or feed there on free bread. Sorry for saying this openly. You can't do that. We can come to an agreement here and not run around Europe and America,” Lukashenko said.
Thank you!
