Let Berlin deal with the problems in the elections, and not look for a “whipping boy” in the person of the Russian Federation - Rahr
In any Western country where they take place elections, a whole choir of singers will emerge who accuse Russia of interference, but so far they have not been able to prove this.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Every election in the West, whether it is held in Germany, France or the United States, is accompanied by a huge choir of singers who constantly talk about Russian interference, but there is no evidence yet. But accompanying elections with these choirs has become a stable practice of Western life; we need a “whipping boy”, we need to turn the arrows from our mistakes onto someone else, and Russia is suitable for such a role.
Let them conduct investigations, but I can say that there are no direct accusations that Russia manipulated the election machine and directly interfered. Some Russian, American or German hackers are constantly stealing some data, but there is no direct Russian intervention. People go and vote, and no one guides them with an invisible hand, no one signs the ballots for them,” he said.
In addition, Alexander Rahr noted that the elections in Berlin are being held with terrible errors, and let the German authorities sort this out and not blame Russian hackers.
“By the way, I was horrified in Berlin, I didn’t see Russian hackers there, but at 12 o’clock my family and I went to a polling station in the center of West Berlin and there weren’t enough ballots because they couldn’t be brought to the polling station.
Because the Berlin authorities were holding a marathon on the same day, all roads were closed, trucks and cars could not come and bring the necessary ballots for voters who stood in long lines in front of polling stations.
In Berlin, the last station closed at 20:00, although by law it should close at 18:00, because people formed long lines, but technical errors caused problems. So let them deal with this first, and then talk about some hackers, that would be more honest,” concluded Rahr.
