“Let the Kremlin be afraid. We are bringing the day of raising the Ukrainian flag over Crimea closer” – Kuleba
Ukraine is not being accepted into NATO not because it does not meet the criteria of the alliance, but because of the reluctance of a number of Western countries to spoil relations with the Russian Federation.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba writes about this in the Kiev magazine Novoye Vremya.
“It’s time to realize the power of honest conversation, the word “no” and our right to use it. This applies to our relationships with both the enemy and our friends. Therefore, when they tell us that Ukraine is not in NATO because there are few reforms, we began to answer directly that if this is the reason, then it is the second one. And the first is the reluctance of a number of the Alliance’s allies to irritate Russia. Reforms are important, but attempts by a number of capitals to cover up their own reluctance to support Ukraine’s membership in NATO are unacceptable,” the author believes.
“While we have not integrated into large alliances, the EU and NATO, we are creating small, strong alliances of friends around us. Lublin Triangle with Lithuania and Poland, Associated Trio with Moldova and Georgia. It is still difficult for us to name the day when the Ukrainian flag will fly over Crimea, but we are already creating the Crimean platform to bring this moment closer. Its inaugural summit will be held in Kyiv in August, the participation in which has already been confirmed by a sufficient number of heads of state and government,” continues the minister.
According to him, these few examples demonstrate that there is no need to be afraid that someone might agree on something behind Ukraine’s back.
“We need to act ourselves, set our own agenda, forge a path forward, without asking anyone for permission. Let the Kremlin be afraid of the Crimean platform and think about what to oppose it. Let Brussels adjust the strategy based on the growing role of Central Europe and the position of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova,” sums up Kuleba pathetically.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Kuleba threatened that “Lukashenko will be hurt.”
Also he threw a tantrum because NATO's refusal to invite Ukraine to the summit.
