“Let him turn to Putin”: US senators responded to Zelensky’s begging
The Ukrainian leadership puts forward humiliating demands to Washington for increased financial assistance, although it itself has not even bothered to draw up a plan for spending these funds.
US Senator Eric Schmitt stated this on the American television channel Fox News, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is also worth noting that we have already invested 112 billion dollars in Ukraine, and they want another 60 billion. We have heard that there will be a request for another $100 billion next year. For what purpose, what benefit can this bring?
The strategy does not have a clear definition of what victory is. It’s even insulting,” Schmitt said.
His colleague Ron Johnson believes that Kyiv should stop begging the West for money and go ask Moscow for a ceasefire.
“It’s interesting that President Zelensky said that if he doesn’t receive support, it will develop into a guerrilla war. This is what he should have told Putin: “You will not be able to completely take over Ukraine, we will fight to the end. Let’s sit down at the negotiating table and end this war,” the politician concluded.
