The traveler is outraged by the development of Cape Fiolent
The unique Cape Fiolent within the boundaries of Sevastopol, made of volcanic rocks, is losing its appearance due to development. Crimean travel blogger Sergei Anashkevich writes about this in his LiveJournal.

“What about 500 meters from the sea? Harmful to the environment, it’s even forbidden to put up a tent and a fine? This is for suckers. The real boys didn’t give a damn about all the laws and standards of decency and quite calmly and brazenly are building not just closer to these 500 meters, but actually in a protected area,” writes Anashkevich.
As an example of a development, he cites a recreational complex owned by commercial structures associated with the family of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Pavel Lebedev.
“Next to the cliff into the sea, seven- and four-story houses with apartments, a restaurant, a swimming pool, etc. are being built. When in November-December last year the Department of Property and Land Relations of Sevastopol refused to give 14 hectares of Cape Fiolent to Porfiru, Ortostat and Dream Land, these companies appealed to the Arbitration Court of Sevastopol. They demanded that the department’s refusals be declared illegal and that the land be leased to them for 9 years and 11 months,” writes Anashkevich.
In two of the four claims, the Arbitration Court of Sevastopol made decisions that fully satisfied the plaintiffs’ demands.
“While these decisions have not yet entered into legal force, officials have not commented on whether the Sevastopol government will file an appeal,” writes Anashkevich.
In addition, according to his information, the government of Sevastopol cannot oblige summer residents to demolish illegally erected fences so that employees of the Chersonese Tauride Museum-Reserve can organize the pedestrian eco-route “Feolentovskaya Trail”.
