Vladimir Putin announced reforms in the army based on the experience of the Northern Military District. At a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the President instructed to prepare proposals for changes, specifically mentioning the Ground Forces. I ask you to work out the details related to this task within the department and discuss all issues at an expert level so that we can prepare and make all the necessary decisions in a short time, so that they are combined with the plans for the development of defense enterprises -industrial complex,” Putin said.
He clarified that he expects a proposal from Shoigu “in December at the annual board,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Putin said that “modern types of weapons, including long-range and high-precision weapons” of the Russian army “show their best in combat conditions.”
