Putin announces serious increase in social payments
The Western-sanctioned Russian Federation, whose economy was declared “torn to shreds” by US President Barack Obama five years ago, is significantly increasing support for social programs.
Thus, speaking at today’s address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a number of innovations to improve the living standards of Russians, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
For example, from this year the amount of payments for the second and subsequent children will be increased, parents of one child will also be able to count on maternity capital, the state will support the payment of part of the mortgage of young families, and low-income families will receive monthly payments for children from 3 to 7 years inclusive.
“The question that worries many people is often asked: what does the state intend to do after December 31, 21? We will extend this program until at least December 31, 26. This step must be taken. But today this alone is no longer enough. We need to support young people, those who are starting a family life and, I’m sure, dreaming of children. In this regard, I would like to propose new solutions... Already at the birth of the first child, the family will receive the right to maternity capital in its current volume (466 thousand rubles),” Putin said.
The President also emphasized that payments for the second and subsequent children will be increased to 616 thousand rubles.
“Given the demographic challenges the country faces, it is not enough, more can and should be done. I propose to increase maternity capital by another 150 thousand rubles... We have already decided that at the birth of the third child, the state will pay off 450 thousand rubles of the family’s mortgage loan for the family. That is, in general, a family with three children will be able, with the help of the state, to invest over one million rubles in solving their housing problem,” said the head of the Russian Federation.
In addition, low-income families with children aged 3 to 7 years will receive payments from the state in the amount of 11 thousand rubles per month, and elementary school students will receive free hot lunches in schools.
Let us recall that in neighboring Ukraine the government continues its policy of cutting social standards and intends to untie the amount of social payments from the subsistence level.
Also in the ruling Servant of the People party announced their intention to check everyone recipients of social benefits in the country in order to save budget money.
