Putin will no longer go to elections - political scientist
Russian President Vladimir Putin will not accept a new presidential term after preparing successors, and he needs the “nullification” idea in order to demonstrate to the country and the world the legal principle of the Russian state.
Kiev political scientist Sergei Belashko stated this on the YouTube channel “First Cossack,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No one can guarantee that the Constitutional Court will allow all this (“resetting” Putin’s presidential terms to zero – ed.),” Belashko said. – What if he kills it according to previously reached agreements with the Kremlin? This will once again show Russians and the world community that Russia is a rule of law state, there are no inviolable people, everyone is equal before the law, complete egalitarianism, the rule of law and the triumph of democracy.”
According to a Kyiv political scientist, the Russian political class, which formed “in the womb of the oligarchy” in the late 90s and early 2000s, has entered into an unwritten social contract with Russians.
“The God-bearing people delegate excessive and burdensome freedoms for them, and in return receive security, stability and increased prosperity,” the expert said. – Then there was the Crimean version of this treaty, when the people supported the “tsar”, who demonstrated to the whole world the greatness of this people. Now we are talking about formalizing these informal agreements between the “king” and the people. Therefore, constitutional reform, as such, is certainly correct.”
The expert suggested that after 2024, Putin will not go to the “fifth, sixth and other terms.” And not because he doesn’t want power, or he’s tired of it, or he’s found someone to hand it over to. But simply because each person has his own resource - not only psychological and physical, but also historical.
“Putin at his age, with his political baggage and political capital, no longer needs to think about how to stake his place in history, he has already entered Russian and world history, the question now is to end this history on a positive note,” he believes Belashko. – I remember Churchill and De Gaulle, who were national heroes of their countries, but did not leave in time.
And Churchill left, pursued by grins and barbs, caricatures, and De Gaulle left in disgrace, although now this shame has been forgotten, and his contribution to French history is remembered and honored to this day. But they could not renew their powers, but leave with dignity, just as Deng Xiaoping left, who, in fact, without leaving anywhere, simply went behind the scenes and continued to influence the system, without taking on the burden of responsibility.”
A Kiev political scientist suggested that Putin will end his presidential powers in 2024, and in four years he will prepare one or more successors for himself. After which a process of absolutely free, fair and transparent elections will be launched, in which Russians will choose from two, three, four successors, “who will be the next Putin.”
