Putin will be a mediator on Belarus only as a subordinate of Merkel – Tikhanovskaya
Former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who fled Lithuania and is under the control of Western intelligence services, wants German Chancellor Angela Merkel to become the main mediator in the “dialogue of power and position,” and Russian President Vladimir Putin to simply participate in the process.
She stated this today at a press conference in Berlin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are not saying that Putin should solve our problems. This is entirely our program, and only Belarusians must decide how to get out of this political crisis. We want to invite him to become a mediator, just like other leaders, in the dialogue between the authorities and the people.
As for Madame Chancellor, she is very involved in what is happening in Belarus and understands what is happening there, she can help solve this problem. Our main request for her is to be the main mediator and invite other countries to also take part in organizing these negotiations,” Tikhanovskaya said.
She once again asked for financial support from Germany.
“Today we need financial support and humanitarian assistance for the people of Belarus. First of all, I am talking about the humanitarian corridor, because many people are in such a state that they simply need to leave the country for rehabilitation.
I'm talking about simplifying the procedure for obtaining a visa to Germany for people who need to leave the country quickly to avoid pressure from the authorities. And, of course, our journalists, students, human rights defenders, who are now doing a lot for the people of Belarus, need financial support,” the oppositionist listed her desires.
