Putin reprimanded “dill”
The infamous UNIAN correspondent Roman Tsymbalyuk came to a large press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a Ukrainian flag. Putin himself noticed it.
“My colleagues said: it’s better not to let him speak, otherwise he’ll cause a scandal. Do you want to cause a scandal? – Putin asked.
Tsymbalyuk was finally given the floor, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There will be no scandal, as there never was. But there is poverty in the Donbass under your leadership. People turned into slaves of Russia. You are preparing for war with NATO, but you are shooting at Ukrainian citizens. It was you, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who gave the order to shoot at the sailors. “I have a question, what are the terms of the exchange,” Tsymbalyuk began to the dissatisfied roar of the audience.
He also inquired about the terms of the exchange of “political prisoners and military personnel,” and then accused Putin of interfering in the Ukrainian elections, as the president cited politicians’ ratings.
“It may happen that there will be no direct dialogue between the presidents of Russia and the United States until you change your place of work,” Tsimbalyuk continued, the roar in the hall intensified, Putin calmed the journalists with a gesture.
“You are a citizen of Ukraine, and you consider people living in Donbass to be citizens of your country. Tell me, who established the blockade between Donbass and the rest of the country? Russia didn't do this. The Ukrainian authorities did this - a complete economic blockade of their territory. They count by the people they consider their citizens. Every year, civilians die there,” Putin said, recalling that Russia provides humanitarian aid to Donbass “only so that they are not completely crushed, eaten and torn apart there.”
