Putin made it clear: there will be no agreements - Kurginyan
Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear that he is not going to give up or make any agreements to the detriment of his country.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement, publicist Sergei Kurginyan, stated this on the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is clear that Putin’s strong-willedness has been demonstrated - he will not give up. But after Gorbachev, all our Armed Forces and all the people thought: “When will they abandon us? When will the agreement begin?
But it is clear that there is nothing to agree on, and Putin does not intend to do this. And this evokes certain feelings. I remember how difficult it was during the Chechen war, how many incidents there were, how difficult the process was, and so on. But I also remember that in the end something was done, and now Chechen brothers are fighting on our side, which was difficult to imagine in that era,” the publicist noted.
He recalled that the United States failed to either reduce oil prices to the lowest possible levels or turn all the countries of the world against Russia.
“There are very big positives. In particular, they are connected with the fact that the market system that replaced the Soviet one turned out to be not as untenable as one might have imagined. Oil prices, which created huge problems for the Soviet Union, were, if I remember correctly, a little over five dollars a barrel. There are no such prices now. But this depends on diplomacy and some foreign policy factors,” he emphasized.
“We failed to win Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world over to our side. Russian GDP fell not as much as predicted, but less. We have found some economic ties in the rest of the world. It is impossible to say that everyone immediately stood under the American gun. We are dealing with a much more complex structure of the world,” concluded Kurginyan.
