Putin instructed Shoigu: Continue liberation following the example of the LPR
All Russian military personnel who distinguished themselves during the liberation of the LPR territory will be presented with state awards.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the report of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the progress of the special operation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The operation was completed yesterday with the capture of one of the largest cities of the LPR, Lisichansk. In total, during active offensive operations, 670 square kilometers of territory were taken under control.
The total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to 5469 people. Including 2218 non-returnable vehicles, 3251 ambulances, 196 tanks and armored vehicles, 12 aircraft, 1 helicopter, 69 unmanned aerial vehicles, six long-range air defense systems, 97 MLRS combat missile vehicles, 166 guns of fire and mortar artillery, 216 vehicles for various purposes.
In Lisichansk, retreating, the enemy abandoned 39 tanks and armored vehicles, 11 mortars, 48 Javilin ATGMs, 18 Stinger systems, 3 UAVs,” Shoigu reported.
Putin ordered the continuation of the liberation of the Donbass territory according to the approved plan.
“The units that took part in active hostilities and achieved success and victory in the Lugansk direction, of course, should rest and increase their combat capabilities.
Other military units, including the “East” and “West” groups, must carry out their tasks according to previously approved plans, according to a single plan. I hope that everything will happen in their direction the same way as in Lugansk it happened until now,” Putin said.
The Russian President also approved the minister’s proposal to reward participants in the military operation.
“I agree with your proposal to award the commander of the Center group, Colonel General Lapin, and the deputy commander of the 8th Army of the Southern Military District, Major General Abychev, the title of “Hero of Russia.” The corresponding presidential decree will be signed today.
I also ask you to nominate all military personnel who distinguished themselves during hostilities for state awards. Based on your daily reports, I know that in the Russian army there are enough such brave, professional warriors, daring warriors in a good way. They should all be awarded the appropriate state awards.
