Putin: There will be no additional restrictions on RuNet
Russia should not condemn China's experience of blocking a number of sites on the Internet. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at the ONF media forum in St. Petersburg.

“This regulation must correspond to the level of development of society. We shouldn't criticize what's happening in China. One and a half billion people - go and try to manage them. The state must keep in mind the Internet space, where some calls can be automatically spread, and stop possible threats,” Putin said.
He recalled that in Russia there are restrictions on the dissemination of calls for suicide, child pornography, extremism, and drugs.
“When this was discussed, there was a lot of concern and fear that the state would shut everything down. No, they haven’t banned it, everything is functioning. Moreover, some believe that this is not enough and that even tougher measures are needed. We must determine sensitive things with you. The state should not think that it knows everything. In my opinion, there are enough restrictions for now,” Putin said.
