Putin: Europe is 27 times slower than Turkey
In contrast to the successful Turkish experience, the implementation of a gas transport project with the EU was like chewing gum dragging on for years.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during a press conference following negotiations in Sochi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For our part, we are ready to implement this project (Nord Stream 2 – ed.), to go to the end. It seems to me that we will bring it to its logical conclusion. It is easier to work with Turks than with Europeans.
So, Erdogan decided and did it, but here it takes 27 countries to come to an agreement, and for years we have been chewing gum and nothing happens, this is sad,” Putin said
“But the European Union is our largest trade and economic partner, we are approaching the threshold of 300 billion dollars (previously, before the crisis it was 400, but 300 is also a lot), I think that there is such a keen interest in the implementation of projects of this kind, which, of course, corresponds to economic interests of all of Europe, will still win,” the Russian president added.
