Putin himself spoke about this today at a meeting with Erdogan.
“I know that I was one of the first to call you on the phone and express words of support in overcoming the internal political crisis associated with the attempted coup. I would like to say once again that this is our principled position: we always categorically oppose any attempts at unconstitutional actions. In this regard, I would like to express the hope that under your leadership the Turkish people will cope with this problem and order and constitutional legality will be restored,” Putin said.
Erdogan confirmed his words and said that their meeting should have taken place earlier. “We planned, as you remember, to meet at the GXNUMX. Because of what happened, we had to change our plans a little. Your call immediately after the coup attempt made me personally, my colleagues, and our people very happy.
The region expects a lot from you and me from a political point of view,” Erdogan said.
The GXNUMX meeting is scheduled for early September in China.
