Putin and Krasnov declared war on information sabotage
Russian President Vladimir Putin called on prosecutors to fight extremism.
He stated this today, speaking at a meeting of the board of the Prosecutor General’s Office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is important to consolidate the positive developments achieved in this direction, to resolutely suppress any actions aimed at interfering in the internal affairs of Russia from the outside, at destabilizing our society, inciting xenophobia, militant nationalism, and interfaith hostility. And of course, immediately respond to the spread of radical ideology on the Internet, fake news that provokes violations of public order, and the preparation of illegal actions. They are often mainly organized from abroad, organized in different ways: either information comes from there, or money,” Putin noted.
His words were confirmed by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.
“The unprecedented scale of distortion of the information space on the Internet, the spread of millions of fakes about the special operation carried out by Russia is largely the result of the activities of foreign and international non-governmental organizations. Over the past year, a decision was made to recognize 18 of them as undesirable, and about 300 administrative proceedings were initiated to suppress attempts to resume their illegal activities,” Krasnov said.
