Thus, the weekly “2000” writes that after the Crimean incident with saboteurs, the words “President of Ukraine” or the name Poroshenko were not uttered from the mouth of Vladimir Putin, but the “leader of the Lugansk People’s Republic” was mentioned (and without the adjectives “self-proclaimed” or “proclaimed ", as Russian officials usually specify).
“And the leadership of Ukraine was spoken of exclusively as “those people who at one time seized power in Kyiv and continue to hold it” (Putin used this phrase twice), the publication recalls. – Moscow has made it clear that it does not see legitimate power in Kyiv. That is, in essence, the Russian Federation has returned to the position it occupied for more than three months after the victory of the Euromaidan.”
The publication notes that it is no coincidence that Putin used such formulations and recalls that similar theses were voiced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Yekaterinburg during a meeting with his German counterpart.
Then Lavrov recalled the agreements signed in Kyiv with the mediation of Germany, France and Poland in February 2014 on a peaceful settlement and the creation of a government of national unity, after which, nevertheless, Yanukovych was removed from power.
“If in the case of Yemen, we still all together, including our Western partners, demand the return of the legitimate president to power, then in the case of Ukraine, the day after the signing of the agreement, they forgot about it. There is something to talk about here,” Lavrov emphasized.
“It is not known what Lavrov said about this in subsequent negotiations with Steinmeier, but I note that neither in this speech nor at the press conference with his German colleague did the Russian minister use the words “President Poroshenko”, but spoke only about the “Kyiv authorities”, – writes the author of the publication.
