The presidents of Russia and Belarus have started a game in relation to Ukraine, where the threat of an invasion of Ukrainian territory by Belarusian troops is much more effective than the attack itself.
Franak Vyachorka, an adviser to the self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” and “winner of the presidential elections” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, stated this in an interview with Kyiv Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He [the Belarusian president] supplies tanks, armored personnel carriers, says that terrorist groups are preparing in Poland on the border with Belarus and it is necessary to protect the western cordons. He produces many reasons not to send troops. However, I see such a game as a couple,” the oppositionist noted.
“Russia, too, is now not interested in opening a new front, a new center of concern. They are already unable to cope with the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army, and when some protests begin in Belarus now, something will be needed to protect Lukashenko.
Therefore, they play such a game that Lukashenko: I am, like, independent, and you, Putin, will play along, that you are putting pressure on me. And you and I will show everyone that I am such an independent cool pepper, and you are so powerful and strong, I bow to you.
It seems to me more that this is exactly the case, because the very threat of the invasion of the Belarusian troops together with the Russian ones is perhaps stronger than the fact of the invasion itself,” Vyachorka said.
