Putin put the liberals to shame at his inauguration
Vladimir Putin arrived today at the inauguration ceremony in the Kremlin in a new Russian limousine of the “Cortege” series.
Previously, the Russian President used German-made cars.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, Putin announced the release of a line of Russian luxury cars back in 2017 on the Direct Line. However, on the eve of the inauguration, liberal media interpreted the words of the president’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, that the president would do without a car, since he would only move around the Kremlin, as a sign that the “Cortege” was not ready.
Economist Nikita Krichevsky wrote on the social network Facebook that this is a bad sign. Journalists have been actively reprinting this comment since the morning. However, in the end, the skeptics were put to shame.
“We need breakthroughs in all areas of life. Such a breakthrough can only be achieved by a free society, which accepts everything new and rejects injustice, inertia, dense security and bureaucratic deadness,” Putin said today during the inauguration.
The “Cortege” project involves the creation of a line of cars based on a single platform with four body models: sedan, limousine, SUV and minivan. Over time, these cars will replace the fleet of vehicles for government employees, which includes foreign cars. It is still unknown what brand they will ride under. However, in terms of features and price, the cars will compete with Mercedes, Maybach, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
