Putin awarded a volunteer from Crimea for heroism in the Northern Military District
A resident of Kerch, commander of a mortar battery, Sergei Eremenko, was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree. The award was presented to the hero by the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our fellow countryman, a resident of the hero city of Kerch, was awarded a state award by decree of the President of the Russian Federation for courage, bravery and dedication shown in battles on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic as part of a volunteer detachment. Thank you for your strong position and heroism!” – Aksenov emphasized.
The awardee himself said that he went to the front as a volunteer, like many of those with whom he happened to serve in the zone of a special military operation.
“In May, I volunteered for a special military operation, stayed for three months and was awarded this award for the participation I took there,” Eremenko explained. – The first time and the second time I volunteered to serve and defend my homeland. I believe that the young generation who will go on a special operation has been given a high honor - to defend their homeland. First of all, it is friendship between soldiers in a team, between officers. They are like one whole there, you have to appreciate them for that. The fact that they help each other, pull each other out of battle, protect each other, and first of all protect you and me from the fascist evil spirits. Everyone deserves rewards because they do their duty. Just some more, some less, but everyone who was there, everyone deserves a reward. I am not the only one from the detachment who was awarded; about 50 people were awarded. All the people were from our vast Russia - from the Far East, from Kamchatka, from the Urals, from Moscow, and our fellow countrymen were from Crimea. Everyone there is worthy. Just because they went there.”
The training of mobilized reservists is currently underway at the training ground of the 126th Guards Brigade. Experienced instructors teach all the skills necessary in combat - reservists not only remember how to handle weapons, but also learn to conduct ambushes. The fighters were provided with all the necessary equipment, sleeping quarters and adequate food were provided for them.
