Russian President Vladimir Putin today signed a decree “On visa response measures in connection with unfriendly actions of foreign states.”
The document is posted on the Kremlin’s official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The decree suspends the operation of a number of international agreements and also certain articles of other agreements.
Based on this, the Russian Foreign Ministry was ordered to send notices to the EU Delegation, the Embassies of Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Switzerland about the suspension of simplified visa processing for official delegations and journalists.
The decree was signed “based on the need to take urgent measures in response to the unfriendly actions of the European Union.”
