Donbass, Minsk process

By signing the Minsk agreements, Ukraine agreed to the prospect of having “weights on the legs of the Ukrainian state,” Kiev diplomat Bogdan Yaremenko laments on the 2+2 TV channel.

“The return of Donbass to the way provided for by the Minsk agreements is a way to strengthen dependence on Russia. Without control over the border, the legalized territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions will become weights on the legs of the Ukrainian state. They will need to be financed and money allocated for housing restoration. They will have to sit at the same table with their leaders. In particular, the widows of deceased Ukrainian soldiers will pay taxes from their salaries to support the local authorities of Donbass for those who killed their relatives. This is immoral, but this, I think, is one of the ways to mock Ukraine,” Yaremenko said.
