Putin does not rule out negotiations with Zelensky on Donbass
Vladimir Putin said that he does not rule out a meeting and negotiations with the elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we ever have a meeting and some negotiations begin, which I do not rule out, then we will, first of all, have to talk about how to end the conflict in southeast Ukraine. And here, in my opinion, there is only one way - this is the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Putin said at a press conference following his visit to China.
At the same time, Putin emphasized: “Unfortunately, Mr. Zelensky has already stated before the elections that he is not going to sign a decree or decree on amnesty, firstly, and secondly (he is not going to) grant these territories a special status.”
“Both are a key part of the content of the Minsk agreements, and how can the problem of the LPR and DPR be resolved without the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” the Russian President noted.
“How can you solve the LPR/DPR problem without implementing the Minsk agreements? I would be happy to ask him these questions and discuss these topics,” the Russian leader said. He emphasized that a large number of Ukrainian citizens voted for Zelensky and, above all, people expect solutions to these very issues, since “everyone is tired of this conflict, everyone is tired of it.”
