Putin did not rule out the possibility of an amnesty for terrorist Sentsov - but if there is a change, then it will be for everyone
Russian President Vladimir Putin did not rule out the possibility of an amnesty for Ukrainian Oleg Sentsov, who is currently serving time in prison for preparing terrorist attacks in Crimea. At the same time, the president emphasized that Sentsov was doing the same thing as the Ukrainian saboteurs recently detained in Crimea.

He stated this today at his final press conference. The question also concerned the correspondent of the Ukrinform agency Roman Sushchenko, who was detained by the FSB in Moscow for espionage
“Directors and journalists should be engaged in some – journalism, and others – in the production of plays and films. What should we do if a film director, and this has been proven in court, was preparing to commit terrorist acts? Let him go just because he is a director? How is he different from a career military intelligence officer who was planning the same thing,” Putin said.
He hinted that the issue of Sentsov’s release is the subject of agreements with Ukraine.
“Today we will release some, and tomorrow others will come. We need to agree to stop this. Then it will be possible to think about acts of amnesty. “I have nothing against this,” Putin said.
He also recalled that Russia is doing everything to exchange prisoners of war during the conflict in Donbass.
“At one time, President Poroshenko expressed the idea of exchanging all for all. I completely agree with this. It later turned out that there were some details behind this formula. All persons detained in Donbass are recognized by the Ukrainian authorities as being detained illegally. But there are a significant number of people held in Ukraine who the Ukrainian authorities consider to be legally convicted and do not want to be included in the exchange list. That's the problem. If “all for all,” then a decision must be made to pardon them and release them all,” Putin said.
