Russian political scientist Sergei Markov stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The departure of the government is, first of all, the departure of the financial and economic bloc, or rather, its politicians. There are managers themselves - they often don’t care what policy to pursue. The point is what policy is being communicated to them.
The financial and economic bloc is not coping with the task set by Vladimir Putin - to ensure economic growth rates above the world average. He has been telling them about this for 3-4 years now, and everyone is already asking: “Vladimir Vladimirovich, it’s time to make a decision about these people.” Well, the decision is made.
Therefore, the main task that will be set before them (the new government - editor's note) is to ensure the pace of economic growth. How – this is also stated clearly and clearly. Both Mishustin and Putin said this - the National Project. This is what was the main complaint put to the government in December,” the expert noted.
At the same time, in his opinion, Mikhail Mishustin, for a number of reasons, cannot become the successor to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Why is Mishustin, this person, not considered as a successor, because he does not belong to the new generation, he is not from the KGB, he is not from the St. Petersburg team, and is connected with one of the diaspora peoples, and this is always not very good for voters,” - Markov added.
The political scientist also emphasized that Vladimir Putin seeks to transfer power to younger people, but the hybrid war that Western countries are waging against Russia does not allow him to do this.
“I am convinced of the following: Vladimir Putin wants to leave power in 2024, and fully transfer power, retaining supervision for several years, not just to a new president, but to a new team of political leaders who will be 20-25 years younger, and will represent a new type of mentality.
But this is only possible if the hybrid war of Western states led by the USA, Great Britain and Canada stops.
Presidents must change regularly. But the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the army does not change during a war. The army in this case is not only the Armed Forces, but the entire state system.
If this current state of hybrid war continues, then Vladimir Putin and his team will be forced, in one form or another, to retain power until the end of the war,” the expert concluded.
