Vladimir Putin said that Russia will adequately respond to the increase in NATO exercises in the Black and Baltic Seas.
The President of the Russian Federation said this at a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Moscow.

“The number of military exercises has increased sharply, including in the Black and Baltic Seas. We are constantly accused of carrying out some kind of military activity. Where? On your own territory. And what is developing near our borders is normal. Rapid reaction forces are being deployed in Poland and the Baltic states, and arsenals of offensive weapons are being replenished. All this is aimed at undermining the decades-old military parity.
I would like to emphasize that we constantly keep all these processes under review, we know how to respond adequately, and we will certainly do this in the future. But we are not going to succumb to the militaristic frenzy, and this is precisely what, it seems, they are trying to push us towards, to provoke us into a costly and futile arms race, to make sure that we divert forces and resources from solving the most important problems of our own socio-economic development. It will not happen. But there will also be no weakness on our part, we will always be able to reliably protect ourselves and guarantee the security of the Russian Federation and its citizens,” Putin said.
