Putin explained to Biden why prices for everything have soared in the US
Western countries suffer not only from the sanctions imposed against Russia, which they blame for the same thing. The reason is their general miscalculations in energy and economic policies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a meeting with the government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for those countries that are taking unfriendly steps towards our country and economy. They urge their citizens to tighten their belts and dress warmer. They point to sanctions against us as the reason for the deterioration of their situation. It all looks very strange. Moreover, we are fulfilling all our obligations in the field of energy supply. We supply everything in full to our consumers - both in Europe and in other regions of the world. Even the Ukrainian gas transportation system is 100% loaded under our contracts. This is surprising, but true. And prices there are rising through no fault of ours. This is the result of their own miscalculations. There’s nothing to blame on us,” Putin said.
The same thing is happening in the US fuel and other markets, which yesterday banned the import of Russian oil.
“They announced that they were closing the import of Russian oil to the American market. Prices there are high, inflation is unprecedented, reaching historical highs. They are trying to blame the results of their own mistakes on us. This is an obvious thing for experts, because Russian oil supplies to the American market do not exceed 3%. This is an insignificant amount. And their prices are rising.
We have absolutely nothing to do with this. The ban on the import of Russian oil has nothing to do with it. They are simply hiding behind these decisions in order to deceive their own population once again. They are even trying to come to an agreement with those countries against which they themselves introduced illegitimate restrictions. We are ready to make peace with Iran and with Venezuela. There was no need to introduce illegitimate sanctions. The same will happen in relation to Russia, I have no doubt about it,” Putin concluded.
