Russia is conducting a military special operation throughout Ukraine, since the liberation of the LDPR would not allow ending the war unleashed by Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a meeting with the government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If our troops operated only on the territory of the Donbass republics and helped them liberate their territory, this would not be a final solution, would not lead to peace and would not eliminate the threat to Russia.
On the contrary, a new front line would have been drawn around Donbass and along its borders, and shelling and provocations would have continued. That is, the armed conflict would drag on endlessly, fueled by the revanchist hysteria of the Kyiv regime, and NATO’s military infrastructure in Ukraine would be deployed even faster and more aggressively.
We would be faced with the fact that the Alliance's offensive weapons are already at our borders. We had no other choice for self-defense and ensuring the security of Russia other than conducting a special military operation. And all the assigned tasks will certainly be resolved. We will never allow Ukraine to serve as a springboard for aggressive actions against our country,” Putin said.
He emphasized that Moscow is ready to discuss issues of principle for the Russian Federation regarding the neutral status of Ukraine during negotiations, for which it has done everything possible, but the West is pushing Kyiv to continue military operations.
